Endeavor Catalyst has closed its fifth fund with 320 million dollars in commitments, TechCrunch reports. Its assets under management now exceed 850 million dollars. This investment arm of Endeavor, a nonprofit organization based in New York, supports founders beyond the major technology hubs.
Access to funding follows a specific process. A founder must first join the Endeavor network. When their company raises at least 5 million dollars in a round led by another institutional investor, Endeavor Catalyst can participate on the same terms. According to the team quoted by TechCrunch, its participation cannot exceed 10% of the round.
This mechanism therefore combines prior selection with co-investment conditional on the presence of a lead investor. It could facilitate access to additional capital for companies admitted to the network. However, it is not an offering open to all startups located outside the main technology centers.
Endeavor Catalyst says it makes around 90% of its investments outside the United States. According to the company, Europe is its fastest-growing region, while Latin America remains its largest. This distribution offers a geographical perspective on venture capital, without demonstrating on its own that this strategy delivers better returns.
