Rohit Patel is leaving Meta and launching Ndoc, a startup he presents as an AI-based alternative to Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, TechCrunch reports. His project aims to bring together the results of a piece of work, their explanation and the materials needed to verify them in a single space.
The product organizes these elements into separate tabs. Stage holds presentations, dashboards, simulations or small applications. Narrative brings together analyses, references and generated figures. Model contains the underlying datasets and Python scripts. Users can, for example, import data and request an analysis accompanied by explanatory text.
This organization could make it easier to examine an AI-generated result: the scripts are accessible alongside the final document. Their presence does not, however, guarantee either the validity of the calculations or the accuracy of the conclusions. The value of this approach would depend on users’ ability to understand and check the generated work.
According to Patel, documents can be exported to a file that can be opened in a browser. He plans to make the format open, an intention that remains distinct from actual availability. Ndoc is currently running an enterprise pilot and opening an alpha version to a limited number of customers on its waiting list. At this stage, its ability to serve as a lasting replacement for the targeted suites has yet to be established.
