Nintendo announced that November 1 would be the first Pikmin Day, according to The Verge. During a presentation devoted to the event, Shigeru Miyamoto detailed new features for Pikmin 4 on Switch 2 and the Pikmin Bloom mobile app. He also presented a series of short films titled Hello! Pikmin.

A new use for the Switch 2's built-in microphone has been announced for Pikmin 4: players will be able to use it to give voice commands to Oatchi, the space dog. This feature relies on equipment already built into the console. The reported information does not, however, allow an assessment of command recognition or ease of use.

Pikmin 4 is also set to offer Dandori Academy, a mode designed to test players' skills in specific challenges. Limited challenges have been announced, with leaderboards allowing players to compare results. On mobile, Pikmin Bloom is set to receive Secret Caves, a feature combining cave exploration, battles against enemies and treasure collection.

Together, these announcements bring several uses of the franchise closer together: voice interaction on console, ranked challenges and exploration on mobile. This interpretation describes the coherence of the announcements without prejudging their reception. The reported information presents the planned features but does not constitute an assessment of how they work.
