Mozilla is adding assistance with filling out forms to Smart Window, its AI browsing experience in Firefox. According to The Verge, it can draw on information in open tabs, such as work history from a portfolio or a LinkedIn page, to prepare a job application.
The feature appears in forms with at least four text fields. Users see the tabs proposed as sources and can select or exclude them before suggestions are generated. The current scope covers text fields. Mozilla says data from the selected pages is shared with Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, the Google model responsible for producing these suggestions.
Smart Window can also monitor pages for a promotion, a job opening or another requested change. Checks can run daily or weekly, but they depend on the browser being open. A detected change triggers a notification in Firefox or on the desktop if that option is enabled.
These features are rolling out in the desktop beta in the United States and Canada. Their practical value will therefore depend as much on the relevance of the suggestions as on the conditions of use. The choice of tabs deserves particular attention: it determines which information is used to fill out the form and which information is sent to the model.
